We are currently looking for a passionate, talented, and knowledgeable Legal Assistant with proven experience to join a collaborative and innovative team to help with the delivery of a robust compliance programme across the business and providing support to all business departments as required. 

The internship program is comprehensive, and it covers various parts of the law and compliance. It includes reviewing and updating compliance and company policies and procedures, drafting legal correspondence and documents related to contracts, corporate entities, corporate governance, and intellectual property, formatting and submitting grant proposals per requirements of grantors, corporate fundraising and conducting research.

A legal assistant must be able to juggle many tasks at once, have excellent communication skills, practice good judgement, and keep files and proceedings confidential.

Duties and Responsibilities: 
–	Assisting in the creation and delivery of a compliance programme ensuring that compliance with relevant policies is maintained.
–	Assisting with completing file audits of cases across various business departments.
–	Assisting with reviewing and updating compliance and company Policies and Procedures.
–	Drafting legal correspondence and documents related to company’s contracts, corporate entities, corporate governance, litigation and intellectual property in accordance with the company’s guidelines.
–	Assisting legal department on a wide range of other legal matters such as compliance, company secretarial ad more.
–	Preparing initial contract draft based on input from all involved parties.
–	Conduct research to find new funding opportunities and potential donors.
–	Developing and maintaining documents required for grant proposals.
–	Formatting and submitting grant proposals per requirements of grantors.
–	Updating and maintaining filing systems, including confidential files; sets up new files; receives, pulls and files documents and records.

Key skills and experience:
–	Fluent English speaking and writing skills.
–	Curious, proactive, and open-minded. 
–	Administration and database management.
–	Experience in a compliance environment.
–	A high level of literacy and numeracy.
–	Able to demonstrate meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
–	Able to demonstrate relevant experience and proficiency in developing effective administrative systems. 
–	Ability to understand, analyse, explain, and implement complex regulatory and compliance requirements.
–	Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
–	A team player but can work independently too.
–	LLB/LLM degree, preferably in a discipline with a strong focus on writing and research, for example: compliance, corporate, contract law and finance. Knowledge of common law is a plus.

–	Prepare reports, manuscripts, proposals, and technical manuals for use by other scientists and requestors, such as sponsors, customers, partners and potential partners.
–	Determine ways to strengthen or combine materials or develop new materials with new or specific properties for use in a variety of products and applications.
–	Compiling, coding, categorizing, calculating, tabulating, auditing, or verifying information or data
–	Encouraging and building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.

Key skills and experience:
–	Experience with chemical and molecular modeling.
–	A proven track record of projects relating to chemical systems ranging from materials to device testing.
–	Prior experience with storage materials, semiconductors, and electrochemistry is beneficial.
–	Knowledge of solid-state synthesis and chemical modification.
